It is a great compliment to meathook. I love playing the meathook game, but one weakness it has is guys can control the leg and pass through it. The meathook arm isn't strong enough to keep them from passing there and it's a real battle to get your leg through. The other weakness is when I had it in tight and would move to the triangle guys would turn towards the omo and post on the shoulders to try and jump pass over. The omo is a big battle and I didn't like constantly getting stuck there. So now I play with the gun show and the hindu control because both of these positions locks his head in place and provides enough control to keep the guy from passing.
In the videos I forgot to show how to go into the hindu control straight from a good meathook, but basically if his head is to the right and you are hipped out to the left with a deep meathook in then you can just replace your left hand meathook with your right arm elbow deep.
I used to think S-grip was best, but now that I have played with it more the tightest grip is a reverse gable grip as you'll see on the video. It's much tighter than the S-grip.
Something I didn't focus on in the vid is the more you hip out to the left, the tighter the control and choke will be.
Yea it was the gun show from new jersey. Hindu is fine in new jersey if you're flexible. I have guys fully pass my guard with it still in and there is no problem. The problem with gun show and new jersey is if he explodes in his passing and twists like a twister side pass, your knee can get left behind sideways and get twisted. It was just a sprain though, my knee is already back to full. So just keep gun show in full guard and you're fine.
Ah nice.
So here's a couple vids I just took real quick tonight after rolls (this is the Vista gym). I would say one detail I didn't really emphasize or do is to hip out to the left to help get more angle for the hindu control when you are hooking you knee and threading your elbow on top. You also want to put your right foot on his hip and you can push on his hip to help you get the angle. I also forgot to show it from meathook, but basically you can replace your left arm with your right if you are hipped out enough and have a deep meathook. There are also many other things you can play with from hindu control like as you can probably see there is a hundred percent there for the taking, you can even square up and put on crackhead control (with hindu still in) then pump and dead orchard the arm. I also like to go back and forth between gun show and hindu control as they compliment each other well. If his head is far to his right in order to keep you from hugging your knee and putting in the hindu control, then he is leaving the gun show open and vice versa.
