So I rolled into 10th Planet Melbourne in early 2013 with a YouTube understanding of what it meant to do BJJ. I feel extremely lucky that I had heard some stuff about the System and chose Frank Barca's moon to walk into. Since the very beginning I was welcomed into a team that although every individual had different backgrounds and jobs on the mat they are team mates and are always looking to teach and learn.
Unfortunately I moved to Brisbane with work earlier this year and can only get back every three months to train with the guys down there. The team is full of absolute beasts who push each other to extremes to achieve the best possible. Frank Barca has taught me everything I know about BJJ and nothing can beat having him on your side yelling instructions. Everyone who knows Frank can't help but love him.
On Sunday I fought in the Brisbane Championships and was extremely honored to be wearing the 10th Planet rashie. I competed in the adult 79.5 kg novice and won silver.
I would have loved gold but it was awesome to compete and even better to be supported by my 10th planet family in Melbourne.
