I love how VJ is dialed in on the tech threads. I always agree, or reconsider my previous assumption.
I'm flattered by odd and offended by beautiful. Thanks and how dare you Tony.

And also, sliding my knee in helps me stay on my side which we know helps with flexibility. In the case of rubber guard being on your side helps your hip and knee and with the marcelotine the more you are on your side the deeper the non choking elbow can flare.
What about how hard you crank the marceloteen? I'm always a bit shy on cranking it, usually I go 60% to 80 to 100. Am i being too nice?
I usually do the same for rnc s, slowly choke harder and harder like a snake.
To be honest, I've done the guillotine wrong for over 10 years. It wasn't until a 3 day death camp in Decatur that I was finally corrected into folding the opponent into the choke. Since then, I haven't found a need for anywhere near an 80% squeeze on these either. If the position is correct, his head is deep under the arm pit, and the threatening arm is tight, the tap comes with little torque.
I don't squeeze chokes the way you think when someone says the word "squeeze." My goal is not to crush my opponent with power, even if that means increasing the power in increments. My goal is to hold a steady amount of pressure for as long as I can. I try to strangle them, not squeeze them. The amount of pressure really doesn't matter to me because the opponent will eventually choke themselves out by trying to struggle. I usually don't hold anything over 50% unless time is running out and then about 90%.
Thx guys, this thread has been really useful, I'll give it a try Thursday and let you know.
