The trip to 10th Planet Decatur is always an amazing experience but this weekend has been exceptionally great! It was very cool to finally have the chance to meet so many people that I've met through the forums over the years in person. Nothing can beat kindness and love of the 10th Planet family.
Ross, Wancarlos, and I headed up friday to catch the killer open mat that night. After meeting dozens of fellow nibiru warriors we jumped into the shark tank and rolled for about 2 and half hours. The rolls were outstanding as they always are with other 10th planeteers! By the end of night we were all dead tired to say the least. It was super kind of Alberto to allow us to stay with him for the weekend. He is such an awesome guy with great advice on jiu jitsu and life, I can't thank him enough.
It was beyond awesome getting to hangout with Master Eddie and learn about the incredible wizardry that goes on in his mind. Every technique of the seminar was a golden nugget of knowledge that fell immediately into my game. His seminars always feels like 6 months of progress. Maybe not 6 months of techniques, but the knowledge he bestows on you seems to increase your jiu jitsu mind to allow for exponential growth in your game.
Along with the beautiful techniques from the seminar, the exchange of knowledge among everyone afterwards was spectacular. Some of us were on the mats for nearly 7 hours straight rolling and sharing ideas and techniques. During that time, Ross and I took a private lesson from Sean Applegate. Sean showed us his powerful berimbolo game along with a few other bits of gold. I had no idea how well that game could be incorporated into nogi. Sean is an amazing instructor with an excellent handle on the entire berimbolo game and much more. I also have to thank the badass Bobby Rivers for the game changing advice and techniques. I look forward to training with all my brothers and sisters again in the future.
There are too many people to thank by name so thank you to everyone that attended, for the techniques, wisdom, and just being great people!
