He doesn't finish any but watch Keenan's kneebar setups on this video. Does anyone know what type of guard/grip he's using when he weaves his hands through? He's setting it up so that he can easily invert through to the back or get the kneebar, but Rafa is good at countering with the darce or getting to the leg weave/smash pass. Still this looks like a sick spot to launch kneebars from, which I suck at.
Between this and watching Jeff Glover at EBI I really want to work on my kneebars. Anyone have any good videos or tips, besides the Keenan video in the first post? Kneebars are my worst leglock by far. I'm okay with heel hooks and straight footlocks, but suck at toe holds and kneebars. I never get deep enough and people always spin out and I either get my back taken or end up in 50/50.
I think it's because I don't know how to really enter the kneebar without "jumping" on it so unlike heel hooks or straight ankles, I don't really have a secure position before I try to submission. Plus since I broke my ribs I don't invert as confidently unless I have a strong delariva or spiral hook so I worry that when I spin under for the kneebar that I'm gonna get crushed.
