MTS 76 "Isosceles Triangle"
Hello all my 10p brothers and sisters! I hope all is spectacular!
This episode of Mastering The System includes my brand new mounted triangle set up, the "Isosceles Triangle". I'm not exactly sure what that means, all I know is that it's a certain type of triangle, I vaguely remember it from Geometry class in my sophomore year in high school. But the new triangle set has zero to do with what an isosceles triangle actually is, whatever it might mean, but for some reason I thought the name sounded cool. Anyways this triangle set up comes from the "koba grip", which is what I recently named the double wrist grip I use for my new Americana set up which was featured in a recent MTS episode. This grip is a game changer in the mount. "Koba Control" is what I named the sitting position which is the ultimate goal in setting up this triangle. Koba grip and Koba control were not named during the filming of this episode, they were named at the Northwest Training Camp this past weekend so keep that in mind when studying the tape. The actual finish is not even a traditional triangle but a ultra nasty neck crank that is almost impossible to escape, and if your opponent does manage to pull off a miracle and survive, he will fall right into a traditional triangle. You will not want to miss this episode. This is the best mounted triangle set up, IMO, that I know of. Also included in this edition are the latest tweaks in the 10p warm up curriculum, including the guard pass Marcelo pulled off on Kron in ADCC, the double leg drag dive. This warm up is now the new D1 and in my opinion one of the most important stand up passes in the nogi game. But parts of the old D1, are so important that I injected them into E2 and E3, the 1/4 Guard warm ups. So sit back and prepare to take notes, this episode alone can take your top game up a serious notch at the very least, thank you for the support! Eddie :-)
