The Schultz brother were one of my inspirations. I learned their choke and used it to turn a lot of people in the mat room still use the schultz headlock to choke people today. When I started wrestling I studied the rules and what I figured out was that I could choke someone within the rules as long as I had "head and arm together" and it didn't look potentially dangerous.
This is actually Brendan not Dave, but I do teach at Dave's school now. Once again, thank you for letting me visit your school while I was in San Francisco.
nhbgear, I miss that forum. Went down a year or so ago and doesn't seem to be coming back. Happy to have found my way to this one, people are super cool.
Can't wait for the Foxcatcher movie on the Schultz brothers to come out, which should be soon.
More recently, Nick Simmons at Michigan State was really sneaky at choking people out with the front headlock, to the point people started calling him the "East Lansing Strangler."
Hope all is well,
Brendan
