If you know leg drag> hip coil (
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_CkUExk3pSwthen )you can use that as a path to the back if hip locks are banned in your school or illegal in comp. What I do is, before I apply the submission, I kind of get off my elbow to give them space to follow the pressure of the hip coil. That forces them to go belly down, and from that position you have an easy truck entry or the back. I don't know if that's bad fundamentals, but it's worked for me. I mean, if you have the hip coil, I guess it's not necessary to use my method. I just kinda messed with it out of curiosity.
By the way, rewatching that episode of TWIR was refreshing. Great episode.
