ADCC Wikipedia page DELETED

Since last Monday the ADCC page has been deleted as reported by Bloody Elbow (http://www.bloodyelbow.com/2014/10/1...from-wikipedia)

On the wikipedia page (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ADCC_Su...d_Championship) , there is a message that states "...a consensus was reached among editors that it is unsuitable as an encyclopedia entry..."


It's a conspiracy by the IBJJF - they know can't handle the competition =]

I wandered my way through the wikipedia editor stuff. Apparently, someone unfamiliar with grappling decided:

The article was basically an advertisement. The coverage used basically blogs or passing mention. There was no citations and simply is a tournament that some people travel to go to because they have prize money. It is as relavent as the New York Open. [10] It simply isn't notable. Damn....actually it looks like the guy who deleted it is working on an article about luta livre esportiva. So, maybe it was done in bad faith after all.

Interesting. Thought there might be something going on with ADCC. Couple weeks ago they mentioned they were about to announce dates for the trials, and as far as I know there is still no info out on them.
