In terms of that phrase.... that's how I felt after a quick visit to the HQ

Nice to meet you everyone..

I stared looking up for the twister as a tecnique and ended up reading a lot and discovering the system some while ago. So I became what you will call a fan.
In my country it's all about Gi. And If you don't do Gi, you get rejected or people will always tell you are a no one. Until they start asking themselves what is going on, when you win the matches.

So i planned some months ago my first of all the trips to LA i wish to do (at least once a year) to keep learning and to master the system.
After I Got the opportunity to train at the HQ in september, am for sure not going back. I want to keep mastering the system and as I told master Eddie am going to work hard to become an affiliate.

I have my own academy, we only teach No gi from 2011. When we decided to stick with the system only. That's how the academy started.
We also teach muay thai, MMA and else. It was hard (am not rich i work for a linving) , it still is when people say we don't do Gi and we can't say we practice jiujitsu. But we have earned some other respect with our boys winning at the cage. And as far as I know it doens't bother me if they talk nonsense or don't have me in their association cause I don't want to play by their GI rules.
We also run a program in wich we train young and kids on No Gi and mma for free. Kids with troubles and that can't afford to pay anywhere for classes.

You have so many great coaches in all the 10thplanet affialiates and also the are quite a lot hotboxes. So if you live near some or as far as 2 hrs. I encourage you to make the trip you will never regret it. I wish i had that opportunity everyday. I need to work a lot and save just to travel to USA.

So I wish to be part of the 10thplanet family and become better everyday...

My gym is also 100% no-gi and we encounter some of the same attitude occasionally. But, it's like you said, winning in competition totally solves that problem.

Awesome stuff man, especially with helping kids who can't pay, you can't put a price on how valuable that might be for somebody. My gym has the same stigma being no gi only, but of course, competition results speak for themselves

Ignaz Semmelweis suggested doctors wash their hands before surgery, back in the 1800's, but was laughed at and mocked. Kind of reminds me of how Gi praperceive NoGi guys...
