I've been focusing on the Dead Orchard for a while and I'm starting to run into a specific problem. Once I achieve the high guard position with my legs, I start squeezing and working for that figure-four shoulder lock. During this transition, my training partner (especially when sweaty after a couple rounds) can often simply tuck his head/chin, bring his arms together, and stand up while quickly and simultaneously slipping out.

    Any advice?

We find that if you zombie one arm out of the way, that will give you more control when in that situation. So after you zombie that other arm out of the way, you are in brackish waters... still able to armbar and kimura..

Another option is IF you get more angles, turn to one side as in a triangle they have a harder time slipping out and more than likely that will force a triangle...

It was named deep on this thread. http://www.10thplanetjj.com/threads/...s+muddy+waters

It has existed at least since the video Sean Bollinger put out like 8 years ago lol.

I figured it had long been around, maybe a Judo move from 1658 AD or something lol. Thanks for the info.
