My Plan for the ADCC trials: Don't Suck Again

Trial by combat. It’s the only truly just trial a man can get in this cold prejudiced world.

Last year, I failed miserably to seize opportunity at the ADCC tournament in Beijing. I acquitted myself feebly, losing in the first round and bringing unspeakable shame and dishonor to myself and onto Eddie’s house. Fortunately, life is full of second chances. I failed in 2013, but this is a new year. Marijuana is basically legal. My gay friends are getting married left and right. Change marches onward, and so must we.

The ADCC North American Trials are December 13 in West Virginia. I have one month to prepare, but I’ve been training hard for the last six. Nevertheless, I will train harder. I will not waste a moment. I will leave no personal potential untapped. I will run as much as I can and then I will run one more. I will lift the heaviest weights I ever have and then I will add more. I will choke every neck that I see and hook every heel I encounter. I will delete my facebook account. I’ll stop eating bonbons*. I will not watch (as much) pornography. Now is the time.

Here is the overview of my plan. My personality is such that I don’t harmonize well with a strict daily schedule, so I’ve broken it down by week. I will break down each aspect more thoroughly below. So come, countrymen, scattered warriors of a borderless nation, bring your eyes and your brains and your patience and share with me your criticisms.

    This has already begun.

    Every week:
    4 sessions traditional weightlifting
    3 sessions stretching/yoga 1hr
    2 sessions wrestling 1.5hrs
    1 session hot springs
Bicycle ~150km (this is just how I get around)

    Week 1:
    6 sessions jiujitsu drills 1.5hrs
5 sessions live rolling (including situations) 1.5hrs
    4 sessions sprints: 100m x 6, 45s recovery between each

    Week 2:
    8 sessions jiujitsu drills 1.5hrs
6 sessions live rolling (including situations) 1.5hrs
    5 sessions sprints: 100m x 8, 45s recovery between each

    Week 3:
    8 sessions jiujitsu drills 1.5hrs
7 sessions live rolling (including situations) 1.5hrs
    5 sessions sprints: 100m x 10, 35s recovery between each

    Week 4:
    9 sessions jiujitsu drills 1.5hrs
3 sessions live rolling (including situations) 1.5hrs
    3 sessions sprints: 100m x 10, 30s recovery between each

*I have no idea what bonbons are but they sound decadent and lazy, and thus removing them from my life has strong symbolism.

I'll be there as well, anyone looking at places to stay? I was thinking of air bnb'ing a house or apartment, I may have a couple others coming with me as well.
