Our very own Gina "Jelly Bean" Begley got a last minute call to step up and fight Sijara Eubanks, a Lloyd Irvin black belt and multiple time champion, after her opponent Roma Pawelek had to drop due to injury. In addition, Gina has inked a four fight deal with Invicta. Even though Sijara may have the higher grappling pedigree, Gina is no slouch as a 10th Planet purple belt and much more Muay Thai and MMA fight experience since Sijara has only fought twice prior to signing with Invicta. MMA grappling is different and being punched in the face changes everything! Even blue belts tap out black belts in MMA. We are super proud and happy for her being given this opportunity. This should be a good and interesting fight even though Gina has had less than a week to prepare and is even fighting up 10 pounds heavier than her usual 125! WOW...congrats Scott and best of luck to Gina. Sijara is tough no doubt I have seen her fight a million times while coming up via the BJJ tournament circuit...like you said...MMA is a different beast though.
