if you dont live in cali and cant get a legal marijuana card.. but still refuse to support a law that says you cant do something that benefits you because the govt cant profit off of it.. then heres a couple tips. First.. keep your weed inside a clocked glove compartment with your license and registration between the seats. and then if the you get pulled over they cant legally search in your locked glovebox without a.) your permission, or b.) a search warrant.. and trust me, no cops going to go get a search warrant for your glove compartment. ALSO.. if you put it in a sealed envelope with an address and stamp, they cant open it because the cops cant legally open your mail. Just thought id share that with you.

They can do that here, but only at the border crossings. The standard for a search is much lower at a border crossing and they essentially have the right not only to strip your car down to nothing, but they don't even have to put it back together if they don't find anything. I started making a LOT fewer trips to Canada after I learned that. My ex is a prosecutor. I remember her telling me that when she was in school and showing me the case law about it. I flipped out. I mean, I understand that security interests are higher at a border crossing but I found it very interesting that the presumption of innocence does not apply until AFTER you cross the border. You effectively have no rights as an American citizen until AFTER you've crossed the border -- which makes international travel that much scarier to me.

Last time I crossed the border to go to Grappler's Quest in Boston the border guy searched our trunk, opened all our bags threw everything out and then just left all the stuff mixed together and just gave us a big smile. We only realized he trashed our trunk when we got to Boston Douche

I am not sure about the law, or if these guys are giving the cops permission or not, but I can see from their curb sitting faces that they are not happy about it. You know sometimes cops auto assume certain rights like boarding your boat, vehicle or getting inside your house. You gotta stop them and say, dude take it easy, go to court and get some permission.

You've got to know your rights and be proactive in defending them. Law enforcement will try to get away with whatever they think they can get away with on an uninformed citizin.

If a cop has reason to believe you have drugs in the car, all he has to do is have a k9 unit come and walk around your car. If the dogs hits on your car, he will search it. Cops here in Indiana do random stops for speeding, etc. but they often use a k9 unit and will do a walk around everytime they pull someone over.

I know here in ohio the cops cant even search your car without permission. k9 or not. And if you DO give them permission to search it, they cant look in your locked glove box. all they can do is say "youre going to need to open that".. to which i respond.. "no, i dont have the key" or "no, i dont want to" they cant force you to. and same thing with the mail. They can try to tell you that you need to open it.. but legally if you say no they cant make you.
