I'm new here and I started grappling not so long ago. I try to follow the 10th system as much as possible because I really like it; there is no place in Holland to train 10th Planet jj and I don't know anybody that trains according to 10th Planet here, so I try to learn it on my own for now.
Today I joined a tournament for the first time 'beginners level'. I injured my back two weeks before for the tournament and this combined with 'first time competing' made me feel uncertain the whole time, but still the rubber guard felt somehow comfortable.
I was able to win two of my matches because of the rubber guard; one gogo plata and one time I got the armbar because my opponent this time knew I was going for the mission controll and he did anything to prevent it and gave me his arm. I probably wouldn't have won the tournament without the rubber guard; although I know I should improve it.

I hope to come to the UK this summer to train at a 10th Planet centre and I wanted to say the system is great.
