I get a lot of mileage out of the Ham Sandwich, and this transition, having also been taught the HS by Alder about 7 years ago. I find that you can sort of Scissor Sweep from the HS into the Honey Hole. The key is getting ahold of their foot with the opposite hand as the foot you are hooking their knee with (Your right foot hooks their left knee, your left hand grabs their left foot). If they turn away from you the wrong direction and you sit up quick, locking your hands around their waist, then you get the calf crush/knee separator/whatever from the back. I find the easiest way to practice the HS is stepping into it when they are playing open guard; you get really good at grabbing that foot and getting it up to your hip bone, which is the most critical aspect.
