It's not a 10th planet thing. I'm 100% in agreement. But you say berimbolo and 50/50 guard, and I mean I've witnessed it be 10p specific technique as well, guys caring more about playing their version of the rubber guard than fundamentals. That doesn't mean it's the rubber guard that's flawed. What magnified it in my instance is that this was taking place outside of a 10th planet school, where a 10th planet instructor wasn't there to walk them through it. I'm at least glad I learned a basic armbar and triangle from the guard before I started investing in rubber guard. I'm at least grateful I was at a 10th planet school before I attempted to test my flexibility and work my way into mission control. I was making mistakes but got corrected on how to hold my ankle, meathook, get to mission control, whathaveyou. Again, it's not a 10th planet thing. That's just one example I've seen. Initially, I explicitly mentioned that I've seen this in AND OUT of 10th planet. That was just one example. I'm of the belief that rubber guard shouldn't be learned without consulting a 10p instructor, given that there can be a risk of injury if done improperly. I credit 10th planet for helping my game jump several levels. I wouldn't be on this forum if my intention were to hate on 10th planet. I'm not an idiot.
