EBI5 lightweights... Denny returns

Yes I agree completely with this. But that's why I want the people that the greater Jiu Jitsu community thinks are the best to compete in EBI. I want to see for myself, and I want the world to see, who is the best at the EBI format.

I suspect most Jiu Jitsu fans will think that Cobrinha will just blow through Prokopos, Orchard, and Cummings. Will he? Maybe, maybe not. Either way I want to see it!!!


I love EBI. I invite people over and cook food and have a party of it each time. It's by far my favorite grappling event. It's fucking awesome.

But I also just watched ADCC. I saw what Tanquinho did to Cummings. I want to see them have that same match with EBI rules. I want to see a guy like him go at it with Denny and Nathan too, with EBI rules.

It'll be great if Denny and Nathan are the best grapplers in EBI5. I'd watch a rematch of that final and love it. But I'd be MUCH more interested in semi-finals with Tanquinho vs Denny and Cobrinha vs Nathan. THAT would be as good as it gets for me. Wouldn't you guys love to see those matches too?

I just think you're going to get a LOT more prestige from those kinds of guys where they are considered the best of the best by the larger Jiu Jitsu community.

EBI does things a little different. We don't offer show money, all the purse money goes into one pile for the the winner, and he only gets paid per sub in regulation. It's like a Jiu Jitsu game show. If I offered show money to all the adcc stars then the grand prize would be a lot lower and then the urgency for subs drops tremendously. So hopefully more adcc stars will want to jump in, Victor and I already invited Frazzato, Taquinho, Cobrina, Rany and Cummings, they did show interest, now we'll see if they confirm. Rafa will be contacted as well. Orchard will be a monster at 155, and of course Denny will be on fire as well. Thank you for the support!
