Quick highlight of Cormier's nasty takedown from ufc 192

do you like that one? (personally it's one of my favorites, next to a perfectly executed suplex)
we've seen Cormier devastate a few opponents with this takedown.
being a big fan of wrestling, and slamming people in general, i really enjoy watching Cormier fight.
... but in the bjj gyms we often hear that head on the outside single (or high crotch) is a "dangerous" move, because of the guillotine potential. that's true to some extent... if your opponent manages to collapse your posture and get a proper hold of your neck, then it's most likely game over. but like most things in grappling by making a few minor adjustments to your hip and head positioning, you can avoid the risk and destroy your opponent with relative ease.
i wanted to share two videos by my brother, a wrestling coach to Miao bros pro team and ex-husbands of Angelina Jolie (?), where he shares some great details about avoiding guillotines and proper head and body positioning.
how to avoid guillotines and tips on proper positioning.
