I'm still reading and great work here! Maybe you covered it but something interesting about nogi sub only is that certain submissions go down because of how the game works. Darragh O'Connail talked about it when he got his north south choke at EBI 3. He's well known for his guillotines and darce chokes as he passes and the other guy turtles up but in sub only there's less turtling during guard passes because the bottom guy doesn't have to worry about getting scored on. So Darragh worked more on the north south choke for that event and it paid off. Same thing with kimuras and far side armbars without the as many turn ins to defend the pass.
When Lloyd Irvin put on the brown belt BJJ Kumite at the end of 2012 (the event that introduced Garry Tonon to the world pretty much) Lloyd puts stats out and people were surprised that 2/3rds of the way through the event there wasn't a single guillotine in 128 no-gi matches. Also you see the money influence come into play because Lloyd gave cash bonuses for RNCs and the stats below show 16 of those. The 3 gi guillotines happened to come from Darragh btw.
These stats aren't 100% accurate because the event wasn't over but I do remember there wasn't a single finished guillotine in no-gi.
