Yes, Danis was prior to EBI 3. He tried Tonon too, and got Mafra the day of the event. Javi Vasquez drove in from his academy at like 2 hours notice and filled in nicely. Much respect to Javi and Rose Gracie.

I can't assure you that a certain individual had better intentions with an Instagram heist than pumping up his own ego for not being invited to compete at Metamoris Pro or other reasons not worth mentioning. With that said, I'm all about improvement and this is a good opportunity to shed light for the people who really care about our future and the future of submission grappling.

First, we started Metamoris to elevate the sport of Jiu Jitsu and its athletes. People think we are rolling in the dough because we have the best quality production and that we have been financially backed since M5. Truth is we lost our backer after M2. Metamoris 3 was a huge risk and the largest athlete payout yet. We broke even on M3, a huge victory. Metamoris 5 and 6 did not bring in the expected live streams, setting us back in a big way. As a means of recovering we created Metamoris All Access, Metamoris Challenger and Metamoris Underground. Although they are amazing ideas we spread ourselves thin. I'd like to apologize to everyone incorrectly billed through our site, we were not ready to launch when we did and we have since identified all the issues and brought on qualified people to develop the site. Still, you believed in us, trusted us and we let you down and that is something no amount of money can replace.

To the athletes athletes, most of whom are supportive and patient with our mission and know that we have gone big in building their individual brands as well as pushing to pay them above industry standards, it hurts me to delay but you WILL be paid. This patience is not owed to us, though we are grateful for it. Lastly, to the fans of Metamoris I'm personally sorry for the loss in momentum. I made mistakes trying to honor what we all love and I fell short on many levels... We have now formed an executive team to manage our processes on a level that reflects our mission and capacity and are in talks with several qualified investors. In essence we are regrouping, applying the lessons of our mistakes and gearing up for the strongest year in grappling history. That said, it won't serve us to dwell on past mistakes. It just shows how a major core component, arguably THE most important component of being successful in business, is relationships. Keep people happy. Keep good standing. Throw a guy a refund if he asked for it and you couldn't deliver on something. Be gracious with other fight promoters or school owners. Pay your fighters on time, even if it means a loss on the books. Keep that bridge intact.

Whatever side of the story you're on, poaching another guys athletes doesn't sit well with a silent majority. Instantly, there lies a group of fellow jiu jitsu practitioners that don't have your back anymore. I more like to observe, but the vitriol that he's received from 10p since the Danis story has been palpable and noticeable, through the forums and through my interactions with 10p people.

Something I notice about life; if people like you, think highly of you, they'll look for every reason to justify your actions in a time of wrongdoing. They'll do what they can to soften the blow in their own minds of the wrongdoing of your actions. It's amazing how people who got your back will look the other way and JUST HOW FAR they'll look the other way. If people dislike you, they'll look for every opportunity to discredit you. They'll look for ways to burn you. Any joke you tell, even if it's the most HILARIOUS joke in the world, having professional comedians rolling on their backs laughing, won't be funny to them. Humans are amazing like that. Every action you take becomes scrutinized under their eye. They look for anything and everything they can to justify why what you said or what you did is the lamest thing in the world. Some may call it the evil eye.

Maintain critical relationships. What's more is someone mentioning that Ralek allowed a guy he hadn't paid yet to take over the instagram account. Common sense. If you haven't taken the steps to maintain a good professional-working relationship, the guy you give your instagram password to MIGHT jUst use that platform against you. And how many people rush to your defense in such a situation? Depends. How've you treated'em?
