I ended up taking 2nd place and unfortunately injured the guy that I kneebared.

Thanks man. I used to train at a moon in Oregon, but moved to South Carolina 2 years ago and there's no moon out here. I still rep 10P though and might start up a moon out here

Thanks. I didn't expect the kimura either. I'vebeen in that position tons of times and thats never happened before.

that was a really weird kimura setup from open guard or was it 50/50? I thought the other leg had to be on the other side for 50/50?

It wasn't 50/50 it was double outside ashi

Good catch, it was definitely DOA. I've been home alone with my infant son for two days...my brain is in survival mode, lol.

Are you pulling x-guard directly or transitioning to it from butterfly?

I'm pretty much just pulling straight to X. When I sit I have a butterfly hook with my left leg and i straighten my right leg. Then i quickly bring the right leg back inside to set my X. This is the first tournament that I used that strategy, worked out well for me though.
