Just wanted to drop a note of gratitude to Eddie and all the folks yesterday afternoon at HQ. I'm grateful to be a part of this team and to be finally part of an affiliation. There's much I can write from my experience, from the friendliness of folks to the instruction by Eddie, but I just want to focus on something others have said before, which I witnessed yesterday. And that is Eddie's love and child-like fascination for the art of jiu-jitsu. For example, he was watching Grace roll (in preparation for EBI 7); and whenever Grace did a smooth transition or wicked execution of a technique, Eddie would glance up and look at everyone, make eye contact, and express awe at what he was witnessing. It was like he was totally in love with jiu-jitsu (and the execution of it by the prodigy on the mat). There's a deep love and awe for the art that is palpable and infectious. I appreciate getting the chance to be a part of that yesterday.
I'll be at EBI tomorrow. If anyone wants to hang out with an east coaster on vacation, pm me!
