Ronda Rousey vs. Amanda Nunes at UFC 207

I feel like the UFC missed the boat on this one. The thing to do would have been to do a 4-woman, same night tournament for the BW Title. Rousey vs. Holm, Tate vs. Nunes are the first two fights on the card, then the winners are the last fight on the card. Bellator did it about a year ago. They would have made HUGE PPV numbers.

But this only works if you don't have a champion, Nunes is the legitimate undisputed champ so couldn't make her defend twice in one night

One way or the other, the decision to give her a title shot right away is quite controversial. Her loss from Holly Holm was devastating and despite her popularity she was always seen as a bully by a lot of people. That being said, there are a few important factors we have to consider. 1. Amanda Nunes said in interviews that she would like to fight Ronda. There are two good reasons: the money and the potential title "2nd female fighter who beat Ronda". 2. Ronda was 12-0, 15-0 if you include her three amateur wins, before her first and only loss so far. People can say what they want, but she delivered in those fights. 3. An immediate title shot like that is a high risk, high reward situation. If Ronda wins, she'll be back in action. People will doubt her, but if she beats Amanda, she will have to prove herself against Holm and eventually Shevchenko. If Ronda loses she might retire.

The TV told her a lot, it will be interesting to see what she can actually do.

Damn, Cain Velasquez vs Fabricio Werdum 2 and Dominick Cruz vs Cody Garbrandt have been announced for 207. This is great for MMA-fans, but really bad for DC. There are a few more fights to be announced for 206, hopefully really exciting ones too.

Rashad Evans vs Tim Kennedy has been moved to 206. And because Kelvin Gastelum missed weight, Cowboy will fight Matt Brown at 206, holy shit, I'm looking forward to that fight. These two fights are definitely increasing the value of 206, it's looking pretty good now.
