Hey Guys,
So a couple people I train with and I were training with EBI overtime rules, and ended up having a bit of a discussion regarding a situation that happened, and was wondering if you guys could shed some light on it.
Here is the situation:
I started in Spider Web, and started going for the X break. When that didn't work out for me, I pulled my bottom leg out and stomped on my foot (going for a straight jacket from spider web). I was pulling his arm with both arms (not controlling the legs) and he got on top of me. So now I pretty much have the straight jacket from guard, from which I transferred to a triangle choke, which I submitted him with.
We ended up having a friendly debate on whether or not it would count under EBI rules, as his point of view was that I subbed him from Guard. My point of view was that I transferred from the same position I had on the top directly into a triangle, which to my understanding is supposed to count if you transfer into another submission attempt.
*** Here is how I did the Triangle - I had a straight jacket like control from spider web, with one hand I had my deep hook, and my other hand was pulling his arm to apply shoulder pressure. When he rocked me up, I put my free leg under the leg doing the straight jacket. Once it was under, I released my grip on the arm and clinched his head, when he tried to bring his arm back to try to get my foot out from under his armpit, I kicked my foot free, and got the triangle..
Can you guys shed some light on this, as it is a bit confusing to the both of us.
Thanks.
