I think the Cali Fires are similar to the fire phenomenon that happened in Fort MacMurray, Alberta. Massive Corporate Insurance Fraud? Oil prices crash, then it is cheaper for corporations and banks to burn and run than deal with large regional economic contraction, the losses are then spread out to insurance ratepayers and taxpayers instead of just banks and industry sector corporations.
