Pretty excited for the 10p NYC opening next month!

I've only been training for 7 months but when I first started I looked for a 10th planet school to start at. Unfortunately, the closest ones are far out. I'm hoping this new school lives up to the culture I view 10th planet as which is a bit more free spirited than traditional schools.
For instance, me using rubber guard at my school has gotten me playfully teased as "Eddie Bravo Jr.". I was playing an inverted guard one time just for kicks and was called the same thing!
I hope to bring some fun, creative, innovative, and competitive spirit to the new 10p NYC that I think is what really makes this all something special.
Anyways looking forward to my new 2nd home and also cant wait for the Eddie Bravo appearance ! Also sorry for the Dear Diary just excited :]

I’m feeling you. I may end up being the old guy gassing out as I haven’t trained (for me, Boxing and wrestling) in literally 20 years but I’m hoping for a well structured and serious training regime but definitely hoping for a free spirited, cool, fun vibe.

I was in the same boat when starting back training BJJ after 20 years out (before it was BJJ, catch wrestling, muay Thai, and JKD). My brain had an idea of what to do, but my body wouldn’t do it in time or not at all, lol. And with all the innovations in jiu jitsu, it was a totally different art from 20 years ago. Fortunately, I took it slow and steady, had no ego about it, rolled calm, and now after almost three years, my BJJ cardio is excellent and I’m relatively injury free. Take it one step at a time, warm up before, stretch after and often, start up yoga as an adjunct. Good luck!

New to your forum. first post actually. I'm balls deep into all your ideologies lol thanks for all the great info. You have even inspired me to try jujitsu. I live in NYc and im thinking of joining your new branch. Just curious will the school be for beginners as well or will you need some sort of experience? Also what are prices going to range from?
