I was thinking, I remember watching the original UFC as a kid if a cousin had a tape or something like that, then I got to think about how the old code of martial arts was like fight club rule one and two you don't talk about it you don't advertise...
Things that made an old school master like IP Man in respects to his skills, the amount of repetition of the skills he was taught and the live practice on the skills he innovated along with is devotion to Technic and the way his mind was wired as a detail oriented task on target kind of guy... If the scene from one was real which aside from the exact moves used it happened he defeated 10 combat military Japanese officer black belts, in a respectful 10 on one type of fight, I think the general or his lieutenant/captain was calling them in like in the movie at different intervals or the men them selves chose not to ten mob him, but also the karate karate kicks and punches do need a bit of room so perhaps they didn't want to kick each other or limit them selves to one or so kick punch verity your not gonna be able to get those maneuver kick in I assume if there is only an inch or less between each guy and it opens them to blocking defense (that what I call it when you use the attackers to attack each other) domino effect type thing... Of course he utilized breaks and angler shit lock and block a few joint manipulations, but his forms were so linear. Put your hands together like the pray position and keep them together and go from above your head as far down as you can, that is linear, many kick shoot out of that zone to... But his martial skills were are a much different level then the guys In the original master vs master UFC they had to be because he had an eye for timing in strikes that is hard to beat
( honestly the general probable herd about IP man renown and set up the 10vs fight to see his real skill level, no offence to him but a real master of martial arts isn't going to go to his fullest ability with a general of an enemy force watching unless its to the death and no one will ever see the shit, they killed his friend in front of him which would have boosted his hormone levels throughout the roof and kicked him in to A VERY HIGH-TENTED adrenaline mode thus he had a huge advantage in this fight to begin with and if your trying to find/gauge the real skill level of a master you throw 10 combat level military black belts of your form, like the general was two steps ahead the whole time, it might have never happened it might have happened either way epic movie scene.)
the Japanese were after specific forms when they went to Korea to kill the old masters there, I can hypothesizes that its because the Japanese trying to sever ties with the original base of their forms being, there use to be a lot of animosity between the two countries because the Japanese were not liking the huge link between japan and Korea and the past... Korea has the original base form of many forms world wide. The dude who sits at the head of the table when all the forms meets is a master of a special Korean martial arts form. I have seen similarities between jiu jitsu and hapkido and several others. But their is this one martial art that was renowned for it devastation they made the Spartans look like little bitches, they held relative peace in Korea for about 1000yrs warrior poets brah, that for the most part were out of the rule of the king they fought for what they felt to be right kind of thing... So the king tried to have them wiped and they went under ground and stayed in hiding they would be like the old fool on the mountain type and occasionally they would occasional find someone who possessed the honor and shit to not share the forms with anyone for any reason unless they were told by a divine force it was cool... Or some shit. Like they would sooner die before show the forms and if they were about to die or knew they had ten years to live if they couldn't find a worthy apprentice then the forms died with them... IP man and the other Chinese masters of their forms were among some of the first besides like western boxing to offer a pay for martial skill system where it didn't matter to some degree how fucked up a person you were if you had the cash and would hold some semblance of loyalty to the master they would train you, it seem like IP man had some discernment, but then bruce lee came along and he had some issues that even IP man at the beginning were like I can't teach you because you lack certain traits that make it so you know know this level of ass kicking.

Now I can pay some one regardless of what I want to use it for and I can lie through my teeth about why I'm learning and using it for... Masters would kill student in the old days for fucking up or showing people who weren't supposed to know or they died at the hand of who they taught...
These original UFC master vs master fights were not real masters, there are things just in the moves that I look for to know if someone has real master level skills, a black belt means you know this many forms until this spot then we get the strips and shit and you know this ,many forms and have proven yourself to the grand master keeper of the forms known forms and paid your cash token to the establishment... If reincarnation is real I'm sure there are some nutz fuckers who no one knows about until its to late and your dead.lol

I guess I really want to see a legit mortal combat thing like I go and I see all the best killers in the martial skills hand to hand form sets and they face off with the best referees who will call shit long before the guys die...
