Quick question about Ohio BJJ schools.....

Anyone have any input on who is the best Relson Gracie instructor in NorthEast Ohio?

I'm pretty close to Sandusky & Willoughby and there are schools there, You guys aware of any of their boys competing and doing well?

I think all the Relson schools charge 80$ a month and both those schools are about an hour away so the only real difference would be in the instructor quality.

If I get the extra money I would love to hit one of Relson's schools and get into competing......Also known as choking people for $$$$ ;-P

    -Thanks

How about trying each one out and seeing which is a better fit. Who smashes you more and which instructor YOU like more. Just an idea, what do I know.

What are the major cities you are close to? Toledo has some great schools, as does Columbus. Relson is the man, but why are you set on him? Have you trained with him before? There are a few good Pedro Sauer, and Saulo Ribeiro schools in Ohio. I would take the free classes at each and decide what feels like home to you.

I live up by Cleveland a little to the west about 30mins away.....Toledo isn't much farther then Sandusky about 1hr30m Columbus is pretty far though for daily rolling about 2hr30m.

Ribeiro has a school in Toledo.

I think Pedro has a school in North Ridgeville that is pretty close only about 30mins.

I was just curious if anyone knows of their instructors if any of them are particularly successful training competitive JJ players I know of the big names but can't count on them being at their schools a lot.

So I figure Relson may have some solid instructors at his schools......But I don't know LoL so many people in the Jiu-Jitsuverse to keep track of

I'm not set on anyone though always been a Jiu-Jitsu Ronin trying to absorb different guys ideas but I'm thinking of getting more official and trying to compete........So just looking for some input on who everyone is familiar with around here and if anyone is particularly better at training competitive guys.

Chris Blanke runs the Toledo Ribeiro school, he is a BB under saulo and that was Saulo's HQ until just a few years ago. They make regular trips to the worlds, pan ams etc... I met Chris after training with Saulo about 5 years ago, and still make regular trips up to train with them.

Try Ruffhouse Jiu-Jitsu! 2nd Degree Black Belt under Rodrigo Medeiros! Carlson Gracie/BJJ Revolution Team! I think he has 1 or 2 other Black Belts as well at the school. Tell Arthur Jay Pages sent you. I'm his first Black Belt in Arizona.

Appreciate all the input thanks a lot, Sounds like everyone is pretty cool with the instructors around here.

When I get some crap together an the extra I'm probably going to stop by just about every school with-in an hour or so of me cause I'll do a 1h30m drive daily to roll more then that is pretty far though for day to day stuff but I'd go down South and that if there was a seminar I'd like to hit up.

Hopefully I can get things together soon though......I've had the competitive bug for a while almost signed up to do some MMA fights but I'm really more into trying some Jiu-Jitsu competitions out.

Are there any Rubber Guard friendly schools in this area? I know I've heard about some of Gurgle's guys in Columbus using it even though he doesn't care for it much or teach it that I know of but is there anyone that actually knows the 10thPJJ system around here that just isn't officially affiliated?
