Its possible that Cordeiro awarded him the belt, since it happened off camera it is hard to say. However it would be highly unusual that Cordeiro awarded it, and Joao Assis would be the one to tie it around his waist.

    CORRECTION courtesy of the UG:
"Jason Mayhem Miller receives his black belt at Kings MMA from Rafael Cordeiro (courtesy of Fabricio Werdum) and gets into a scuffle."

And Nick will admit he loses it sometimes when he shouldn't, but that is just Nick. The only part of Nick that wasn't gangster that night, was his shoes! I was all over him about his grey suede crocks! Look at my pic, I think it shows them I don't blame Jason for soaking up the fame of this, but that is exactly what the Gracie camp was complaining about backstage before the fight. They were all pissed when Jason tried to hang out and chill with us. Was pretty straightforward about he was trying to get some fame and publicity off of them. That was before all this went down....
Bill is right here. This goes way back to the pro elite days, for those who remember. These 2 just don't like each other. There was alot that went on back stage, back in the day. Jan 29th both should be on the card. Expect fireworks.

LOL. I know, right? If these guys want to argue, well that is up to them. I'm just sending a congratulations to someone who has been training for a long time.

I remember when Mayhem was a purple belt at Cobra Kai. I watched him battle at GQ North American Trials in Jersey in 2005. He went up against a crazy bracket that included Saulo Riberio, Xande Riberio, Formiga, David Avellan, Rafael Lovato Jr., Rick Macauley, Elliot Marshall, Jamal Patterson, and Chris Moriarty (who was also a purple belt at the time). I think Mayhem drew Saulo first round and lost on points(?), but he gave it his all.

Anyway...both Nick Diaz and Mayhem are warriors and both have my respect.

I agree! I just don't care for Jason always trying to be "that guy".... My own personal opinion, nothing more, nothing less. Half of it may be legit(antics), but that's about it...

Mayhem was a purple in 2005 when I saw him at GQ North American Trials, but Mayhem trained under Laimon up through brown belt.
