I don't really get why people hate Brock so much. Ok, he got his title shot because of his celebrity status... so what? He had to beat the champion to get the belt and he did it, he also defended it 2 times against 2 of the best fighters in the world.

He has limited skills? Yeah, so does Nogueira, Wanderlei, Lidell and a lot of other legends in this sport. He's neither the first nor the last fighter to have limited skills.

I don't really get why people hate Brock so much.

Same here, this has baffled me for a while. Especially the amount of people that seem to really hate him. The only conclusion I can come to is that he is a former WWE star. However he retired as a disliked bad guy right? So if he was still a much loved good guy when he left the WWE would he still be so hated? Now if thats true that is VERY disturbing as that means many people cannot seem to seperate fact from fiction!!!!!!! Meaning the root of the hatred is only because he played a bad guy in make believe entertainment!!! Perhaps from that people add all sorts of things to justify the hatred even more. Just a theory but I genuinely believe this is the case with some people. Would the Rock be so hated if he joined the UFC at the height of his popularity?

Now don't get me wrong. As a person Brock comes across as someone I don't particularly care for. The shoving of that Cop before the Valasquez fight is the kind of cocky shit that really pisses me off. However I have never hated him or booed him and you can't deny he is entertaining to watch.

As for those who have bashed his credentials as a fighter I'm astonished!! How many useless unskilled fighters join the worlds premier MMA organisation and beat the defending champion and defend the belt twice against two Interim champions in only their first 6 MMA fights!!! Crazy!!!! Frank Mir used to be known as the best submission artist in the heavyweight division and when you see the breakdown of how Brock controlled him on the ground you could never call him unskilled. If you think he has just won all those fights against elite competition just because he is big then why hasn't Bob Sapp or Butterbean been anywhere near as successfull? There are countless fighters in MMA past and present who are as big as Brock and have never achieved a fraction of what he has. You may not like a particular person but in my opinion you should still give them credit when it is due.

look i understand if those here that think brock lesnar is a good fighter, thats your opinion and i respect it. I am going to say why i dont think he is all that great and thats the last input i will put in this thread. If you don't agree then it's cool but hear me out on this.
1 yea hes a good wrestler and an alright striker, but his actual mma training is limited. He has a bjj coach but he really only trained to defend against it not use it. Imo i feel he neglects to truly train in mma and if he would have broadened his skills then maybe he could have been undefeated, i dont deny his athletic talent, i do however think he thinks he can get away with the limited training he has which obivously he cant
2. He has only had 7 mma matches. And he pretty much walked into mma big leagues because of his celebrity status. I dont think he really had to work for it like most people have to. Again my opinion disagree with me all you want.
3. He lucked out on carwin sorry. Give him a rematch (oh wait thats right he wants to quit..) and i am confident carwin would win
4. He beat randy couture, who is a great fighter but he is old. If couture was younger i dont think he would have won the match once again, my opinion
5 i will give him a tie with frank mir, but their first match shows how a guy close in size can get the best of him with skills he didn't have. To lesnars credit he learned from their first match good for him
6 if he did mma for the love of competition why are they saying he wants to quit now? A couple of losses and hes getting cold feet? That doesn't sound like a guy who really likes to compete it sounds like a guy who likes to win and quits when he loses. He did mma for the money, which is not bad just not really for love of competing for love of a fat paycheck. Why else does he want to do wrestlemania so bad? 2 mill for 30 minutes of work? I would do it to hes just pissed he is under contract. He knew he would not make pro wrestling cash in mma just have a little more cred, which he got, but i loose respect for him because it looks like money takes precedent over hard training and real hits.
7 his record is not extensive. So he has gone against some big names but why? He doesnt fucking deserve it for christ sake! There are guys who fight 2x+ times his fights before even getting into ufc and he gets an easy? No one can deny he had the red carpet rolled out for him regardless of whether you like him or not
8 and last and not really most important his crap attitude. People like him give mma a bad image, hes not the only one out there with this cocky attitude but the spotlight is on him and it gets noticed. Being humble is obviously not a trait that fighters are best known for, but it would be nice if they could keep the shit talking to a minimum sometimes ufc comes off with a wwe vibe to me and it is not cool.
You may respectfully disagree with me i admit i have a biased feeling towards him so maybe thats why i think this way, but i have never been a fan of the heavy weights in general i find heavy weight fights to be one dimensional but thats just me

Frank Mir and Shane Carwin were his size? I don't understand your point. There has always been huge guys in MMA. I can perfectly understand why Brock would want to retire from MMA already. He was the champ and he defended his belt twice and he did it in less than 10 fights. What more can Brock do? Are we to expect him to attempt to be number 1 for the next 10 years? Even if he beat Cain in a rematch, there is always someone out there coming for you. Fedor proved this. If he doesn't need the money, staying in MMA will become redundant for him but to say he's not a real fighter? you're fucking delusional.

I can agree that he was a gifted athlete and has a great collegiate wrestling career, but how can anyone not notice that he gained lik 100lbs from the time he did college wrestling til the time he finished in the WWE. HGH and steroids are the only way to get there. I'll even give him the benifit of the doubt when it comes to him passing tests now ... but you dont average a gain of 10lbs of quality muscle mass a year with out junk..... Pro body builders do that and they are jacked. I know a guy who was Mr. USA and MR. World and he has as much said so to me. I mean shit, go to a supermarket and look at 10lbs of meat ... thats alot as long as its quality mass. Now I think lifting without you could get gains for sometime but there is going to be a plateau point... a consistent decade plus of gaining that kind of weight is pretty much impossible. So back to the size thing .... Couture would have beat him if he wasnt that out sized... people can say if Randy doesn't like it dont fight heavy weight ... but if you cant reach 265 naturaly you can t say shit either. The results of his past definitely effected the future ... even if he quit all the use he still gained attributes that he as an individual would not have gained without it. I commend him for having the fought top ranked individuals but I respect those that do it without junk more. I know there are probably lots of guys out there now who are blowing by tests too and Brock never failed a test either so I cant say that he is on now, but I most definitely think he used something in his tenure with the WWE.

On thesmokinggun.com, they have his mug shot from wayyyyy back when. He was arrested with what cops described as large amounts of HGH. He was released and never charged after the cops determined the pills to be legal substances.

As a person though, Brock Lesnar is cool as shit. On youtube, "Brock Lesnar gets angry and breaks door".
He's watching the tape on his loss to Frank Mir, admits defeat to the kneebar, but points out how long Steve Mazagatti took to pull Frank off when Brock was clearly tapping.
