Thank you Chris! When I read your first response it literally gave me chills. It takes some work to get through the first 350 pages, but the its the best book Ive ever read(and Ive read bunches). Highly recommend it. Its philosophy- objectivism- can be applied to all parts of life for those of us who make no excuses. You and Eddie fit the mold hands down. Hank Rearden and John Galt! I just hope I can make it to the valley one day

I run into this all the time, I'm friends with a bunch of dude who train, be it, mma, or jitzz, or whatever, but I'm the only one who is into 10p. at the last UFC event the guy hosting the party introduced me to some new people and mentioned that I do 10th planet, to which there were snears, jabs, and little insults most of the night. I kind of welcome if, I think it gets under peoples skin, and that gives you a little edge. they know you're gonna try something crazy, that they can't defend, and they're scared. I now tell them don't be scared homie.

It may just be my location ? It maybe the fact that I try carry myself in a positive and respectful manner but I for one have had zero issues. I have found that in life if you walk around expecting the worst that's what you usually get. Try showing respect for tradition and you may be surprised how open to your ideas or then again maybe you guys just live near a bunch of assholes.

ahhh! styles. they're almost just names to me. Take whats effective(and sometimes even whats not :O!) from any style. I love BJJ and i love 10thJJ, but with no formal teacher the world is my resource. I try not to shut down ANY technique even if its my red neck cousin who knows almost nothing about grappling telling me about it. I'll still give it a chance :P

Here in France, bjj is'nt famous at all. Some people know about Eddie and his victory against royler . Both are great fighters .
My opinion about a " potential " hatred against eddie is due to his free spirit. Eddie is a free mind, a free man. a real one.
So, the majority hate this kind of guy cause they want to be like that !

I love to play both. I make jokes when people get put in twister and tell them not to tap to that crap. It is an inside joke to are group because that is my favorite sub! Same when I am able to pull off the wall rubber guard techs while in GI. Nothing is more fun than to tap some one with that and tease them about tapping to that crap. All in all you just can't get worked up over negativity. Use what works for you!

In my opinion 10th planet is like the Jkd of the grappling world. Dunno how someone can hate a system that encourages the student to grow.
