well frankie edgar lander more punches and kicks than maynard in evrey round except the 1st and frankie had an incredible slam/takedown in the second round he pretty much stuffed all of maynards takedowns took maynard down easly for the most part and i belive and he had 2 good submission attempts....i scored the fight...round 1-10-8 for maynard(gray dident dominate the whole round only the first half therfore he dosent get a 10-7)...round 2-10-9 for edgar..round 3-draw...round 4-10-9 for edgar...round 5-gonna have to go with 10-9 for edgar...so the winner based on how i scored the fight and the fight stats...FRANKIE EDGAR

47-47 was the only fair ruling. Octagon control is only 1 part of the game. Maynard Earned a 10-8 first round, but didn't deserve to take the belt from Frankie. He tried ko'ing him. Didn't work. Tried taking him down, didn't work. I hope both guys earned the respect they deserved. And you can only score round 3 a draw if one of them had a point deducted. If I had it my way, No rematch. Maynard had his shot and the best he could do was draw with a featherweight. I say Edgar vs Pettis next, and Maynard vs Henderson for the next title shot. and Then George.

i think next we should have edgar vs pettis and winner fights the winner of maynard vs george sotiroplos...i think the winner of edgar vs pettis will be edgar and the winner of gray maynard vs george sotiroplos will be maynard and than we could have edgar vs maynard again and pettis vs sotiroplos

yeah i had no problem with that decision. I mean, i would have liked to see one of them win, but not just for the sake of having a winner. I think if they would have had chosen winner someone would have been screwed. But if i HAD to choose, i would say i would understand Edgar winning b4 maynard. but i had it 47-47

I had Edgar winning but could understand the draw. That third round could have went to Maynard.... but the judge that had Maynard winning.... No Way! Maynard wasn't throwing more than two punches at a time while Edgar pretty much gave him a boxing lesson. He was landing 1-2-3.... 1-2 uppercut 3..... All night son. Edgar won in my book off takedowns and clean effective punching.

    I had it,

    1. 10-7 Maynard
    2. 10-9 Edgar
    3. 10-9 Maynard
    4. 10-9 Edgar
    5. 10-9 Edgar

So it's 47-46 Maynard for me

But like others have said the chances of someone being given a 10-7 round is slim to none so if round 1 was more realistically going to be 10-8 so thats makes it a draw 47-47.

Well if that's what you think a 10-7 round looks like, what does a 10-6 or 10-5 look like ?

You don't. Every rule meeting and ref/judge clinic I've attended, 10-7 is it, anything more the ref isn't doing his job to protect the fighters.
