OK, I've been training MMA/Jiu Jitsu for the past 2 years or so. Mostly self taught and taught by friends who fight/compete. Back in July I entered in a grappling comp in NC and met Jon Helton from Nibiru MMA(10PJJ Charlotte). I knew some 10PJJ stuff from watching videos on youtube while deployed overseas and reping it with a buddy of mine who had the 10PJJ DVDs. After the comp I spent a few days training at Jon's gym and really got to see true 10PJJ first hand. I spent a week or so in Charlotte staying in a hotel solely to train at Jon's gym. I then went back to work(military stationed overseas) and took all that I learned back with me and passed it on to the folks I trained with. On later occasions I went back to 10PJJ Charlotte to train with Jon and his crew. Every time I learned something to add to my game. Jon has coached me at US Grappling Atlanta where I took second place in the beginner division 150lbs and under.
Recently I have made it back to the US and am stationed in NC roughly 2 hours from 10PJJ Charlotte. I try to make it out his way on the weekends to get my reps in. I am training full time(3-5 nights a week) at gym that is 10PJJ friendly (Red Point MMA in Fayetteville, NC). This past week alone while rolling with other members of the gym I have pulled lockdown-electric chair-stoner-calf slice several times, ham slice, duda, gogoplata, jiu claw to perpendicular jiu claw, and most certainly rubber guard. Just tonight I shut several people down with lockdown alone, and they were at a loss when I hit old school, deep half or electric chair. I actually found myself teaching the lockdown to dogfight after we were done tonight. So, in closing.....10PJJ IS THE SHIT and Jon Helton is the real deal and an awesome guy. Anyone within a zillion mile radius to 10PJJ Charlotte should pay him a visit.(I was not paid to say the last few sentences...well, not yet anyways.)
Thanks to everyone on here who puts in their reps and drills their techniques. See you all on the mat!!
