I agree it will be a good fight buuuuuuuut............ If you ever watch Jake Shields stand up, its like its in slow motion!! I'm really surprised he hasnt been knocked out more!! But he has a good chin cause Dan Henderson hit him with some good shots and he hung in there and pulled out a victory!! He's got a lot of heart!!!

Jake Shields standup is total shit, but godly on the ground. GSP has it all, his striking is very good on how he flows in his combinations with punches and kicks. With a top fighter with lots of tools, GSP can do anything. You never know if GSP is going to strike with you or take you down. I don't see Jake Shields getting the takedown on GSP, but the other way around at some point. I believe that Shields will be able to pull off a reversal here and there. If GSP wins I say by TKO if standing, or another ref calls like always if on the ground. What I want is Jake Shields to relentlessly attack GSP in the guard and ground game and submit him.

And for GSP generally, I lost respect for him as a human ever since he cheated. I really do believe he greased up on vaseline.

OK, A few misunderstood my initial post. Jake's stand up is horrible. Now most fighters would expose their opponents weakness. I don't think GSP would try to KO Jake, I actually think he will try to take Jake down and GNP. As far as looking past opponents, good ponits. Jake and GSP could both lose their upcoming fights. I actually think Kampmann is more dangerous to Jake than GSP. On the BJ Penn notes, yes hes a good grappler but Jake is a different machine. BJ is 155. Jake is a big 170 and has fights at 185. He has wins over Mayhem Miller, Dan Henderson, Paul Daley, Robbie Lawler... Can BJ beat Dan Henderson??? No way. If this fight goes down, it will end up on the ground. There Jake has a huge advantage. I don't think GSP will fight the fight he needs to, to win. He wants to test himself against the best in the world, at their element, and win. He will try to grapple with Jake and IMO, he'll probably get subbed.

I got to go with GSP. He said about the Dan Hardy fight he plays to where he feels he has the highest percentage chance to win the fight. With Hardy he felt more comfortable on the ground because Hardy is good stand up. GSP has some pretty good stand up so im thinkin he will keep it up and take out shields. If things start lookin bad on there feet im pretty sure everyone agrees GSP can get him to the ground.

I think a lot of you are not giving Jake credit on his take down ability he took down and beat up Dan Henderson, who's hard to take down without accutally rocking him first, I think if this fight happens GSP will have to worry about shields takedowns cause he's very good at taking anyone down off their strikes he plays to that moment very well when a person commits to a strike he takes that shot and almost always finishes it. If jake does get take down he's got great defense and is good off his back so I think this makes an interesting fight

Well Im glad you can beleive your eyes if you watched the video you can clearly see his corner man rub vaseline on him.. GSP is not a cheater though! wasnt it phill nurse who was caught rubbing it on him. you really think that Gsp knew the difference between when they ussually rub his back and that...lol cause GSP is the kind of man who deserves no respect.

im not saying i think GSP will win ,but if he does pull shields as a opponent..you know he is going to have several weeks of training time.and im sure he will be polishing his ground game with great grapplers...so he will not be a pushover on the ground. i think its still up in the air

First of all G.S.P.s stand up is way over rated he got dropped by a 4' tall 155lbs jiu jitsu guy. "G.S.P. is the best wrestler in mma" this statement is false and I would almost venture to say stupid and insulting to a lot of high leval wrestlers in mma but G.S.P. could very well have the best take downs in mma. There is more to wresteling than just the double and single leg take down. I should remind some of you guys G.S.P. is a legit Gracie Barra black belt and he proved it against Dan Hardy. Dan Hardy only survived that fight because he is a BEAST! and one tough s.o.b. G.S.P.s game plan for every fight is to take his opponet down, believe it! He will take Kos down and he will take Shields down. If he did try to stand with Shields I believe Shields would find a way to get it to the ground but it doesnt matter because G.S.P. will take it there for him. Now once it hits the ground it will be an entertaining fight. I really want to believe Shields will pull out the submition. I will be rooting for him and its possible but who knows you can bet against G.S.P.
