    Belt testing

A buddy of mine is training at a Carlos Machado affiliate gym in Waco. He said one of the requirements for a purple belt is, they bring in a good boxer, and you have to submit him. I was wondering what are some other crazy test you've heard of or been a part of

To get a blue belt in omaha you have to eat fire, shit ice, and teach a whole class speaking in tongues. I've got bout 5 blue belts and those fuckers are crazy.

i am testing today. I should be about half way to blue after this test. All test before blue belt at my gym consist of basic escapes, reversals and drills. The final blue belt test you re run through all that stuff, then show the teacher everything else you have learned, and I think you roll with him also and then they can decide whether or not your ready. I know lots of guys who have completed all the testing for blue belt but are still whites simply because our coach does not think their ready for blue belt yet

So, on average, how long does it take to earn your blue? I know it varies depending on the school and student, hence why I said "average" :P

We don't test at my gym. You have to earn it. I'm a 1 year 2 stripe white having already won 2 tournaments and tapped 8+ Blue Belts....with no promotion in sight.
