Does Anyone Here Keep a Jiu Jitsu Journal?

Prof. Keith Owen made a suggestion on his FB status a few weeks ago about keeping a journal to help improve one's jiu jitsu game. I thought this was a terrific idea to help document the lessons and small details after each day of training. I was wondering if anyone on the forum does this and what types of things they might write in it to help themselves improve? I found this link from Rafael Lovato, Jr's website that has some cool ideas about things to write down, but I'd also like to hear what others have to say about their experience doing this. Has it helped you improve? http://www.lovatojr.com/2010/12/do-y...j-journal.html

After practice I'll write down the chain of moves for any technique I liked and think I'll legitimately add to my game. In addition, I write down anything about myself that I learned, such a as tendencies, weaknesses, strengths, etc from a certain position or situation.

I don't review the journal all that often. It's more the act of taking the time to write it all down that helps you remember.

I do, my game went us exponentially once I started. I think it makes a big difference what kind of learner you are too. Now I wont even watch a technique video unless I have somehting to write on.

Yup. Coach posts a training blog for beginning and advanced class. I copy the blog into Word and annotate it outline-style with all of the details. I try to fill it in from memory and include the corrections coach makes. I think it's helped tremendously.

I am wanting to elevate my game, maybe seeing what is working and what isn't through a few weeks would help me focus on my strengths and weaknesses.
