Hi Shawn,
The FDA says there is nothing wrong with Triclosan.....they classify it as a pesticide. There are studies that show deformities in tad poles as well as studies where it has been found in women's breast milk. I'm not sure I would want my newborn drinking an FDA approved pesticide. Triclosan is banned in much of Europe and there are groups in the US who have filed suit against the FDA regarding it.
As a combat athlete you would want to stay clear of it because it depletes your normal skin flora. It kills the bacteria that protects you from other infections such as ringworm. If you email me at defensesoap@msn.com I will be happy to shoot you over some literature on the topic.

I read that post wrong. Triclosan. I see soaps that have Triclocarban in them. Is this similar?

Sorry we cannot answer that question. We are not educated on Triclocarban so rather then give a false answer we will have to defer on this one. Hopefully it is a safer version of Triclosan.
