How well do YOU sleep after late training?

I've found that training late at night, like 8pm or later, makes me so amped I have a hard time getting to sleep. I either stay up on the computer or lie in bed trying to sleep. Any one have any suggestions? I sometimes use Melatonin, but only if I have an early morning. Thanx Guys.

haha I'm the same way. I've just come to terms that I won't sleep and find things to be productive at those late hours.

If weed doesnt work the trazadone will. Nonhabit forming and your out in 30. Ive got bad insomnia and it took 25 years for me to get somethin for it. It helps because sleep is crucial.

funny story, I was just thinking about this the other day. I always used to sleep like a rock even before I started training Jiu Jitsu. I have done 2 tours in Iraq and upon completion of my second tour, which was physically very demanding. I returned home and could not sleep, everyone I talked to said it could be PTSD. I now know what it was, but first let's flash forward. I have just moved about 5 states away and am now getting started in a new city, one of the things to suffer from the move is that I am not currently training anywhere, and I haven't started working yet. Last night I was up until 4 a.m. and wide awake. I now know what has been keeping me up late into the night. My body has been used to large amounts of physical activity with 5 years in the army and then 1 year of training jiu jitsu, that when I am not expending energy my body will stay up for up to 20 hours a day. needless to say I used to sleep well and I have to get back into the gym.

The hour and a half drive back home after training usually calms me down. Whenever I get home I grab a bite to eat take a shower and fall right to sleep.

I heard that shit...I'm like 50/50, half the time I crash right out but sometimes I feel like my brain is on fire going over routes in my head over and over again. Those nights can teach you a lot too.

I have an hour drive after I train but when I get home and take a shower it wakes me up more.
