    Best shin guards for mma?

So I'm currently using some basic combat sports velcro shin guards. The elastic band that keeps them in place over my foot has broken causing the need for constant readjustment and I'm going to make an investment on a decent pair. I definitely need a pair that is grappling friendly as I am about to fight in Destin under a Florida amateur sanctioned fight which require the use shin pads in the fight. Those who do a lot of grappling and kickboxing let me know whats best please. Hayabusa are some I were leaning towards but I've heard that just for training, they kind of suck for your partners taking kicks. Thanks in advance!

my Thi pads are Revgear and holding up well, so i got the shin/foot pads with the elastic calf. seem to be the same quality. Cost me about $50. but havent had them long ebough to stand by them. I do stand by the pads though, trained hard and they show no wear.

Nice, thanks for the replies. Keep em comin! And Don, it won't be until March but probably 145. I walk around 155 and am cutting to 149 for Naga Feb 12. If that goes well, i'll cut a little more in March.

This is my first attempt at it so I have no idea what to expect. I just know I want a competitive edge and 10 pounds isn't that ridiculous. Im gonna be 5'10 145 so cancerish may be appropriate.

yea Im 5'10 160 and still skinny so losing weight to fight would make me weak as a bucket of shit. One of my coaches told me to move up to 175 when I get ready to fight since I'm 5'10. But hell I mean at 175 you got guys who are crazy strong.

Yeah dude, I would do 155 if I were you. Im pretty skinny so I might feel like a bucket of shit, guess we'll see. If I feel ok at 149, chances are i'll be ok at 145 if I do it correctly. I may take a catch weight 150 pound fight but I just feel like 145 is my division to own. Now if I could just get a damn pair of shin guards that don't spin around right before I try and check kicks!
