    Professionalism

Hey guys, Im posting this because as we all develop as martial artists, the spotlight on us gets wider and wider. Regardless of our backgrounds and disciplines, we are all using the system and representing Eddie. If I had to guess, I'd say 80% of us don't even attend an official moon. It's very important that we take this seriously. I'll be the first to admit, I've said some stupid stuff in the past, or used poor technique but we really need to carry ourselves as professionals. Lets be humble and respectful in our approach. Some of us Ronins have been blessed enough to train with or at official moons. If you haven't had that opportunity, try to make that happen. As the system gets more and more popular, I see more and more misrepresentations of 10th Planet. On my way to my gym I usually stop for bottled water. This past week, I was stopped while wearing my 10th Planet shirt, ironically by a guy wearing a Tapout shirt. He recognized my shirt from a UFC video game. He had no idea 10th Planet was actually reality but he did know some 10th Planet moves from his Xbox. If we don't take our love seriously and put in the reps to represent correctly, we can never expect respect and professionalism in return.

Thank you to the guys who have taken the time, over the past 3 1/2 years, to make me a better martial artist... Eddie Bravo, John Botello, John Roderick, Chris Herzog, Ari Bolden, Denny Prokopos, Scott Epstein... and anyone else I forgot.

Awesome post Nelson!! You are so right. We are gaining credibility at tournaments for NAGA and a couple of others. We had the head referee, who was reffing my sons match that I was coaching, come over to me in between matches. He told us that he likes what we "10th Planet" are doing during our matches, as far as constant work from the bottom, and that if the match would have been a tie that we would have gotten the decision. So 10th Planet family keep up the good work, stay respectful and humble, and of course continue to dominate!

Agreed. Duesches can get ahold of the system and make us look bad. Seen it first hand. Good thing they are the minority. For the most part 10p cats are the best ive met. Emphasis on most.

Yes they do. And they made it so the person on top can easilly stand up out of New York without any transition. But if your submission level is high and you go for the gogoplata from new york it goes through all the clearing the neck to kung fu move into the gogoplata reaper version and with my guy at least its pretty much a guarenteed tap or a close scare.
