Her goal is to wrestle varsity next year and the year after. They were being kinda wierd about the slamming thing that day and she was already warned by the same ref in her earlier match...so she tried to do it Matrix style and ended up on her back.
I see a big difference in her jitz game now too...she never settles in turtle anymore and is constantly pressuring when on top. She is developing quite an unorthodox style by mixing the 2 together. Its pretty cool to see...cant wait for Grapplers Quest Beast of the East to watch it all come together in action.
Yeah it was definitely a good showing I wasn't trying to take anything away from her.. I'm sure if she keeps it up she'll be an exceptional wrestler in the coming years more so then she already is. Depending on goals.. there actually is plenty of opportunities for her to continue wrestling in college as well if she chooses too(film as many matches as you can :P). I have a few friends that wrestle/d at OK city who has been # 1 in womens wrestling for several years now and might be worth a look. They wouldn't recommend it though as far as the campus life/city and the schooling isn't going to be mind blowing.. but there are a ton of other schools to choose from if college wrestling is something she wants. If its not.. she can go somewhere else and join the schools club team if they have one to keep her skills sharp... of course that's years in the future.. but its still something to think about(when it comes to college sports.. its better to plan earlier then later imo.. I was in for a rude awakening and regretted not listening to my mom when it came to me(lacrosse.. spent a lot of time on the ground lol))
As far as jujitsu and wrestling.. they are totally different dynamics but man if you can blend them together your game is on a completely different level. Its good to hear that she is able to... I'm gonna remember this name :P

No subs in wrestling.. without going into a bunch of rules and making my post longer.. locking your hands is illegal in about half the positions(in folkstyle) and if you lock your hands around their head you need an arm or a leg.. the wrestler also has to be able to breath or the ref will stop it.. I didn't see a twister in the match but at the end he had her in a cradle and was going for a pin(it was impressive that she lasted through it :-)). You will however see a lot of twisters in high school wrestling.. you'd most likely see one a tournament if you kept track :P(maybe an exaggeration) .. because of the goal of the sport its much easier to accomplish(in wrestling its a guillotine inncase you didn't know.. I'm sure you can find videos on youtube of it being done in tournaments).
