No doubt, I'm a huge boxing fan. It's only a part of MMA and you would have to cross train in Jits, Wrestling and Thai Boxing to succesfully go from boxing into MMA but Boxing as a sport at a high level is incredibly skillfull and beautiful to see when two technicians compete.
