    Where to start?

id never done any jiu jitsu before i started my mma class, just muay thai, and i stumbled on the 10th planet system and sorta fell in love. Where should someone like me start if I want to try pick up as much of the basics i can considering there is no 10th planet schools where i am in London?

In particular i wanna know what i can do at home, like in terms of studying videos, where to begin etc however whenever i want to watch videos, i cant see the basics from the advanced moves

You can start by changing your username to your real name. Thats the standard around here. If you dont use your real name, dont expect alot of friendly replies.

For $5 a month you get full access to the techniques section of this website which ill admit are not really for beginners, but watching those episodes will give you a good feel for what we're all about here at 10th planet. As for learning at home, buy some of eddie's books... Mastering the Twister and Mastering the Rubber Guard. Reps Reps Reps... I'm in the process of researching a good grappling dummy to buy, that's def a good way to drill at home. (unfortunately they're super expensive for the real deal)

I would suggest that you do a little research and join a reputable BJJ school in your area. You'll need to learn basics as well as get as much 'mat time' as possible.

In addition to that, pay the $5 per month for the pro membership here. Watch the videos and try to work some of the techniques into your game when you roll at the gym.

Whether you adopt a pure Tenth Planet game or just sprinkle Tenth Planet techniques into your game, you'll benefit from the hands on learning that you'll gain at a brick and mortar gym.

It would definitely be a good idea to buy Eddie Bravo's "Mastering the Rubber Guard" book. I just started training in a 10th planet school and this book helped a ton with the basics

thats easy dude 1st just roll

and see what positions you end in most
get the top 3 positions you get to most and pick one
from there pick one sub you like from there and drill it and learn all the dos and donts
when you get sick of that go to position number 2
    etc etc

    that's what i did too.

well, actually i read a ton of jiujitsu books as a mental reference and then when I get stuck in a position, i hit my mental rolodex of the techniques that I read and pick one that seems to remedy the position. but yeah, just naturally grow from your weaknesses and your strengths, adding finishes to frequent positions and escapes to frequent problems.

that approach has definitely kept me excited for jiujitsu.

This. As long as you know the game and the rules, just kinda roll first. Don't worry about submissions so much, just try to get dominant positions first.

Saulo Ribeiro's Jiu Jitsu University describes the belt levels perfectly. White belt is about survival, so focus on that for now.

Also, Brandon, I think Ayman Aziz IS his real name, hehe
