Yeah I have a high Metabolism too. I burn about 3100 calories a day. That is a handicap for us. The only answer is we just have to eat more. Point blank, sorry. As far as protien goes, you dont need much. To Maintain muscle one should consume 30mg per kg of body mass. That means if I walk around at 165 then I am 75kgs of body mass. 30mg x 75kg = 2250mg Thats only 2.25 grams a day. Thats a qurter cup of Black Beans a day. Now recommended daily intake to gain muscle for someone thats trains 5-10 hours a week is .7g for every pound of body weight. so if I weigh 165, I need to consume 115.5 grams of protien a day to gain muscle. 3 cups of peanuts contain about 120 grams of protien. So to Gain Muscle you only have to eat 3 cups of peanuts a day. Thats no where near the amount of protien that everyone thinks you need, and thats to GAIN Muscle. You could eat enough protien in a half cup of almonds or black beans a day to maintain your muscle mass.
