A counter to some of the points made

    1. GM seeds that have been altered so as to have pesticides already inbuilt is a relatively new thing so there is not too much data. However in a documentary called 'Vanishing of the Bees' it was shown that the dead bees contained these new pesticides in their bodies and that most of the Bee's that have died have been near farms using these new seeds with inbuilt pesticides. Bee's that lived away from these crops seemed to be thrieving.

    2. Saying organic Seeds are basically weaker and produce less crops is also very misleading. It's the soil that is the problem not the organic seeds. The soil requires 52 minerals but your average farm soil only has 3 of these 52. Deficient soil leads to deficient plants which or course are more vulnerible to various diseases and fungus so of course there are more bugs on them. Pesticides focus on the symptoms not the actual problem. Strong healthy plants in nutrient rich soil have been shown to have much less bugs on them and the ones that do have birds which feed off them without damaging the plant itself.

    3. Plenty of studies have shown Chlrorine to be harmfull to various organisms at certain levels.

    4. People don't starve because we don't use pesticide! People starve because they have been betrayed by their Govts and Big business. Spending billions on Military weapons instead of food for the people. Or destroying the soil so things cannot grow there. Also there was a study back in 2006 I read (I'ii try and see if I can find it again) that showed the amount of food produced in the west and is wasted could potentially feed the millions who do not have enough food in thw world.

    5. That so called effective chemical fertilizer has been shown to damage the already nutrient deficient soil.

    6. They could have at least tried to make an effort to show that the couple was actually a real couple. Not paid actors used to protray organic people as retards.

    7. LOL the Hudson institute!!! (They must think people really are that stupid) The same institute given VERY large donations by the Food companies who would stand to lose profit from people turning to Organic! Or course they are going to slag off Organic stuff. Asking them is like asking Royce Gracie's opinion on 10th Planet compared to his fathers GJJ. Your only going to get one response.

With regard your grandfather living such a long life of course there are no absolutes (depending on one's belief about death). There are always exceptions to the rule. However I would speculate since your Grandfathers diet in the early 20th century (free of the chemicals and pesticides in todays foods) could have given him an much healthier foundation on which to smoke and eat shit food later in his life. Of course this is just a theory on my part. It should be noted however that more people then not who live as your Grandfather did do not make it to 97.
i Have a friend i work with who is 73. He went to the doctor and they told him that his heart is fine with no blockage. Then the doc told him he wanted him to go on a diet and take blood pressure meds. My friend said well hell doctor If I have ate the way and lived the way I have for 73 years why would i change it now?

Not enough information here, if his heart is fine why say to him to take blood pressure meds? Why tell him to go on a diet? Is he overweight? Does he not get enough nutrition? If your friend is 73 that means he was born around 1938 so I doubt he is eating the same stuff now as he did in the 40's 50's 60's etc because most of todays artificially processed foods didn't exist back then.

Exactly why tell him to go on a diet.

I'm glad someone addressed that video. Everyone knows Big Corporations pay Pin and Teller to make biased films. Prime Example is the Hudson Institute. As far as your grandfather, James is probably right. Even if he isnt, your grandfather is one person out of 7 billion. I can just call that lucky. Imagine how old he would have been if he ate organic haha. Your 73 year old friend might not have told you the whole story. I cant see why a doctor would tell a healthy 70 year old man to go on a diet. Unless, of coarse, it was to go on an organic diet. Im clueless as to why the Blood Preasure pills. Get more info from him.

So how do you obtain calories from just eating organic food? i have a super fast metobalism and i have to at least eat around 3500 a day not to lose weight. i usually eat around 5000 and like to eat 7500. Don't see how someone cant eat meat. gotta have that protein.

I addressed the Hudson Institute on the first page! Absolute garbage. As for someone living so long etc...George Burns smoked and drank and lived over 100, so what. Those are anomalies. 1 person getting a head injury and dying in MMA would be considered RARE and not the norm, same as people who abuse their bodies and live long healthy lives.

It doesn't exactly take a rocket surgeon to know that pouring toxic chemicals that kills living things on our food is bad for us. We grew crops for thousands of years until the 1950's without the poison, no need to start now. Especially on the advice of a company that gave us agent orange and rBGH/rBST

Plenty of protein to be found in plant based sources. Quinoa, amaranth, beans/rice etc...as for calories those grains have the same amount of calories. 10grams of protein is 10grams whether plant or animal.

You're missing the point. Organic crops are inherently an inconsistent variable. That basic premise of an experiment is just logically flawed.

conventional produce is specifically grown to be uniform in shape, colour, taste etc..not for nutritional value. We've lost not only species of plants/vegetables the ones we still have are losing their nutrients. Potatoes for example no longer contain vitamin A. There is literally thousands of varieties of potatoes and a typical grocery store has about 3-5.

For what it's worth people are also an inconsistent variable...thats how nature works.

Well where do we draw the line when it comes to production versus nutrition versus cost value versus time . I mean I know brown rice is much healthier than white (or at least that's what I've been told) but white rice rice has much much longer shelf life than brown . Should we have to change all our eating habits and resort to eating organic food when it costs twice as much I mean most of us cant even afford to buy premium gas let alone spend twice as much on food a month for the exact same amount . The day they start selling wholesale organic food for the same price as wholesale non organic food I can guarantee everyone will jump on the wagon but when it costs $9.37 for half a pound of organic cashews well you can just suck my non organic balls. If you grow your own food than thats great cut out the middle man but how much does it cost to maintain a garden where it will support your eating habits month to month to month and I can bet you still have to buy no matter how much food your growing (unless you have a garden the size of a farm than your just a rich douche). I mean did you know if you live in a house with a fridge and a bed your already rich than more than half of the world. It all comes down to is us small and insignificant ants trying to bargain with the big man holding the giant magnifying glass slowly burning us to nothing and making money off of it to.
