Cutting weight/having to weigh in the day before.....

It's the name of the game bro. It's a common strategy that won't go away. I actually think there is an organization, forgot which one, but during the event, I swear I saw them mention fight day weights. It is ridiculous. I do agree, but that practice isn't going anywhere. I kinda like the day of weigh ins, like worlds, pan-ams, nationals, etc. You weigh in right before you fight. Keeps a more even playing field.

it is what it is, and I still don't know what your totally for but it doens't matter that is why the internet sucks. Maybe some day we'll meet and only than, verbally, can we spell out what we really are trying to say.

I am totally for making this sport the best! Period! No room for corrupt boxing and bs wrestling strategies that can no longer be employed in wrestling. This is a warriors game and it should reflect that.

I will sate my point one more time.
Same day weigh ins would be better than one day before ones, because it will force athletes to fight at their natural weight classes. If cutting weight is the most important part of being a fighter, than Kate Moss should have been the champion for a long time.
Less weight cutting due to water dehydratation will also prevent injuries, fighters will have more gas during the fight and since lets say BJ Penn would be fighting someone at his weight even during the fight, you could see his brilliant game, making it better for the viewers also.

This only ruins it for the people who rely on their weight and size advantage to dictate where the fight goes and the skill of their opponent.

Also most fighters cut weight because their opponent is cutting weight also and they do not want to be undersized in their fight. It is like lawyers, you know the other party is getting one so you get one yourself. If nobody could cut weight, playing field would be more even and the sport would improve much faster. Fighter's hands and their ground technique would sky rocket now that they do not have to worry about cutting 25 pounds or dealing with someone who is 1.5 times their size.

Same day weigh-ins would be good to see in MMA, but until something crazy happens to a fighter due to radical weight loss or dehydration, I don't think it will ever happen. And besides, it may seem unfair but both fighters have the same opportunity to cut the weight. At that point it becomes another type of competition to see who can cut the weight more effectively without hindering their overall performance during the fight. On the other hand, I do also feel that that fighting a bigger person can be unfair, it's plain physics. Force=Mass X Acceleration. So if you assume that both fighters are absolutely equal in skill, the larger person MAY have a natural advantage because he is able to apply greater force... I'm on the fence about this one.
