Fixed fights in UFC and PRIDE

I just watched the Nobuhiko Takada/Coleman fight and got to thinking... how many fights in PRIDE do you think have been fixed? What if it's a LOT more than we think? And what if the same thing happens in UFC and other large organizations?

This really bother me. What do you guys think?

The yakuza worked a lot behind the scenes in pride and seeing as I don't think the mafia is behind the Ufc I don't really think there are many if any fixed fights.

The possibility is most certainly there. I hope Dana wouldn't do that, we don't need another WWE.

I don't believe the UFC organization would ever fix a fight! It would be company suicide if ever found out. But there is always a threat of this with outside individuals and fighters!

I am 99.9% sure Dana doesnt fix fights. Just for the simple fact that if you watch these guys... I dont know a lot of guys who are going to let someone land a huge knee to their face without blocking out of if nothing else, instinct. Its really hard to throw a fight when losing is so costly. There's no way i would let cro-cop kick me in the head for any amount of money the way i have seen him kick some of those guys. and when you see fighters doing everything perfectly to avoid getting beat.. i just feel that if you are knowledgeable in the sport.. you would be able to tell when someone just stops using technique in order to lose. But i dont really think ive yet to see a fight end where i thought "man, he looked like he let him beat him there", where as in boxing, ive definitely seen those kind of matches. Its just too hard for a human to allow himself to get knocked out on purpose and play it off like he didnt know it was coming. But that doesnt mean i dont think dana has put people up against specific styles just to make sure they lose. (look at james toney vs Randy). Even though i know randy asked for the fight. i bet there were a lot of fighters who wanted that one, but randy was perfect for a sure win against a boxer with 0 wrestling/grappling ability.

I thought some of the UFC decisions were kind of shady. Most recently, Rampage/Machida and nam phans most recent fight. And remember after Machida's loss how Dana white said "I'd rather keep a guy who lost a dogfight than keep a guy who ran around in circles for 3 rounds and wins".

2 million, maybe less but I would definitely let Cro-Cop kick me in the head for 2 million! Not like hands down stand in front of him and let him just unload with everything he's got. It would be more like I'm going to move around avoid it as long as possible and he can just keep launching them until he connects.
