I think in a lot of ways one can question Diaz as well. That's why I like the fight. Diaz has not fought any elite guy either. I mean his big wins are over KJ Noons...dude got knocked out by crazy horse. I think that might be both of there problems...they can't beat the elites...so let's see what they do against each other. I don't doubt Semtex's power at welterweight....you can have power and not knock folks out. I doubt his discipline and all around game

please do not go on the "you don't like my fighter so I will attack you ad hominem" thing. I have an opinion...you obviously disagree. Do I have to be able to beat up Nick Diaz or someone else you pick for me to be able to voice my opinion? Now...he fought robby lawler...7 years ago...7! sorry....rampage got knocked out by wanderlei silva twice before he knocked him out in the UFC...years ago. I did not say Semtex was elite...I said that neither has stepped up to beat anyone considered elite, so maybe fighting each other and one decisively beating the other would be considered a pivotal win. I have no interest in what someone did eons ago, we are talking about now in the past couple years.

As far as daley's punching...fine...he has one punch..but he keeps hitting people with it..so whatever works. People said joe frazier only had a left hook..ali only had a jab. Well, diaz has terrible striking mechanics from a boxing and muay thai standpoint..but it damn sure is effective. So although I cringe when a lot of you guys call him a great striker I accept that if it works it works.

Daley has KO power but Diaz has a granite chin. Diaz has more tools and is the smarter fighter. I like that Paul Daley has been picking his shots more than he used to but Diaz is going to out box him. I see Diaz tagging him from the outside, with the occasional flurry and clinch. If Diaz ever feels hes in trouble, he'll take Paul down. Daley is going to gas. I'm thinking Diaz by 4th Rd KO but would not be surprised if he submits Daley by RNC.

well the one thing I saw in the cyborg fight is that diaz quite literally waited for cyborg to gas. You literally saw his posture say: NOW! And he started pressing the pace. Nick Diaz doesn't do himself any favors by his outside the ring attitude. Well, actually he does. People think he's an idiot. In fact, he is one of the most prepared and smart fighters out there. I saw it in the noons and cyborg fight. I do not think he will be silly enough to drop his arms on daley. I do not think he will try to test his chin with daley. I think he will fight his fight and win it. However, if he underestimates Daley's stand up he's going to get hurt....bad. I don't think he's been hit with that type of power. The thing is...if he takes that left hook. He's going to be a damn demon after that. Nothing like taking a dude's best shot and still standing there.

I saw his interview when he was talking about not being impressed with daley knocking out scott smith and it actually was some great points and let you get into how good nick diaz really is and how hard he trains. He let go of that thuggin and buggin wankster schtick and started letting his fighting intelligence show. I told a friend the other day that Nick Diaz was a BJJ black belt...dudes a purple belt and he didn't believe me. Not because he lacked skill but because of his attitude. Could you picture diaz teaching a beginner jiu jitz class? Well the guy that started analyzing Daley's opponents could.

It's going to be a hell of a fight. I think we're going to know in about 3 minutes who is going to win that fight.

yo james, check Diaz record before you say he hasn't faught someone elite, diego sanchez could have went either way, karo, robby, drew ficket, many in the ufc, & everyone in his strickforce division, you can't put Diaz & Daily in the same ocean, not to mention all the ass Diaz kicks in japan, & joe stevenson said he take his sons to the Diaz academy, & i'd train with them any day, you can have a opinion but if it lacks reason & has a sideline pencil pushing feel to it, then i'll always diagree. sorry, but i hate, sports journalists who couldn't make a dogeball team, but always have some shit to say. example, sherdog journalists, & that fat asshole who's always at the ufc press conference pissing fighters off. on 126 he pissed forest off by saying his fight with rich has no meaning. sorry but as an athlete i can't ever respect those type of dudes.

Diaz hasn't had top compatition in Strikeforce because their talent pool sucks in some of their weight divisions, but prior to that Diaz beat Gomi, Lawler, Neer, Tibau. Robbie Lawler hits pretty damn hard and Diaz took what he had and then got the KO. Diaz also trains with Andre Ward who is the current WBA World Super Middleweight champion and as an amateur Ward won Gold at the 2004 Summer Olympics in the light heavyweight division, the first American boxing gold in 8 years. I am positive Ward definately hits harder then Daley.

Daley didn't make weight for his BAMMA fight because the official fight hotel refused the fighters entry to the saunas/steam rooms half way through their weight cut so that other customers of the hotel could use it. Ricco Rodriguez and many other fighters on the card failed to make weight. Thought it was worth mentioning...
