Anybody ever try an inversion table for lower back pain?

Since recovering from a serious calf/ankle injury, my lower back has given me A LOT OF trouble. Just wondering if anybody has tried using an inversion table for relief of lower back pain? Thanks.

My Carpenter friend has the ankle hooks for hanging from a pull up bar. He says it helps his back. I'll try it next time I'm sore and be able to give a better analysis.

yes i bought one back in the summertime from amazon , it works great ...its been in my shed all winter tho , thanks for the reminder cause i need it ,ny back been hurting a bit from work lately .
but inversion tables work pretty good however people that are grossly overweight or have high blood pressure may not be able to use them .
also check on amazon.com for the "miracle ball method" book & BALLS you place the balls around your back ,spine or under it to relieve pressure , they have helped me a bit as well

Honestly, the only thing that has helped my low back has been improving my hip mobility, improving my lower body flexibility (hips, hamstrings, glutes, etc.), and foam rolling.

Other stuff has helped with day to day pain. Like ice, heat, contrast showers, and I've got an old STEM machine I'll use if it really starts bugging me. But, the only thing that's helped keep it away is doing the stuff above (stretching, hip mobility, foam rolling) on a consistent basis.

    Same here.

I have modified all my core exercises so that the lower back retains a supine position and have generally just avoided bending it while still strengthening my core.

This guy's Blog has been a major benefit to me recouping from my back injury: http://mobilitywod.blogspot.com/

I had a herniated disc and my inversion table seemed to help. I was skeptical but Franjinha and jeff glover told me they use it all the time so i got one (cheap on amazon). Now that my back is better it just collects dust tho.

Thanks guys. John Botello said on Facebook that he has one and loves it. I think I might give it a try.

Build muscle around the problematic area. Has worked for all my injuries thus far. I have sculiosis and maintaining a strong core does wonders for my back pain.
